World Environment Day i.e on 5th June, 2019 was celebrated by Children’s Film Society, India (CFSI), Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi offices.

CFSI films based on environment was screened at Remand Homes at Mankhurd and Umerkhadi, Mumbai to draw children’s attention towards environmental issues and to stress on the importance of our active participation in environment conservation. Also to educate them as to why it is important to conserve the environment.

The day was marked by planting trees in the garden area at the above Remand Homes, followed by screening of CFSI films based on environment.

Short Animation film based on Mahatma Gandhiji ‘Vaishnav Jan To’ was screened before the screening of the above films. Film made by Little Directors ‘Kachrapur’ was also screened.

A procession was taken out by school children arranged by CFSI, Chennai office carrying placards with a message on environment. Students took active participation in planting the saplings. A special show was also conducted for HIV children at Chennai. CFSI, Delhi too planted saplings.
