Every year 29 August is celebrated as National Sports Day in India to honour the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand Singh. The day is observed to spread awareness on the importance of sports and daily activities in everyone’s life.

Sports play a vital role in the development of children, both mentally and physically, even if it’s just a simple exercise of running, it has great long term benefits. Engaging in sport can help to create habits and health benefits that last long into adulthood.

To emphasize the importance and to inspire children for outdoor games, on the occasion of World Sports Day on 29th August 2021,  Children’s Film Society, India conducted an online screening of CFSI’s Film “Sixer” directed by Gul Bahar Singh for the entertainment of children at the NGOs/Organisations, while taking all necessary steps to prevent the spread of Covid19.
