It has been CFSI’s constant endeavour to make the children appreciate the aesthetics of cinema as an art form. In order to attain this objective, we usually conduct film festivals in different States of the country.
Though such film festivals are a regular feature in the remaining parts of India, the children of N.E. have generally not been in the limelight of such initiatives. Therefore, to bring the spotlight on North East, we propose to hold a film festival for children – the first Phase of which is being executed by Cinedarbaar. The festival will take off from 25th February to 12th March 2013.
25th February CEO Dr Shravan Kumar will interact with the Press at Hotel Grand Starline and 26th February 2013 festival will take off at Happy Child School.
The Festival will travel in 8 cities namely Guwahati, Shillong , Dimapur, Kohima, Aizwal, Agartala, Gangtok and Malbasey. CFSI will screen its wonderful films and will also conduct workshops like film making, film appreciation, etc. This will open the doors for the children to cinema and encourage them to look at Cinema from a different perspective and enable them to gain basic knowledge about films and film making. A group of 15 children from each school will be writing their scripts and shooting 1 minute long movie. The best film will be included in our 18th International Children’s Film Festival in “Little Directors’ Section.
The enthusiasm for the festival will be huge as most events of this stature which are limited to big metros and don’t make it to smaller cities are now brought at the doorstep of the children of N.E.
So Dear Children let this festival become a memorable experience and most importantly your involvement , encouragement and enthusiasm will not only make this festival special but will inspire and ignite new creative ideas to fulfill our mandate to reach maximum adudience utilizing optimum resources in minimum time.
