REPORT OF CFSI FILM SCREENING AT NEHRU MEMORIAL MUSEUM AND LIBRARY

Nehru Learning Centre for Children and Youth organized a film screening of “Mujhse Dosti Karoge” directed by Gopi Desai, in collaboration with Children’s Film Society India on 31st July, 2015 in the Conference Hall of the Nehru Planetarium. Around 100 students of class 6th & 7thof NP Co-ed. Senior Secondary School, Nauroji Nagar attended the film screening. The timing of the programme was from 10:00am- 12:00 pm.
The programme began by team member of NLCCY, Komal Mathur by welcoming the students and the teachers. Then they were introduced to the the Centre and CFSI. It was shared that CFSI is an institute that was founded by Jawaharlal Nehru soon after independence for the promotion of films especially produced for children. After this, the the film was played. The duration of the film was 90 minutes. During the entire movie, the children were seen enjoying and laughing at various scenes.
After the screening, the children were engaged in a discussion about what they liked the most in the film. Then they were asked to do an activity wherein they were told to group themselves in 5. The activity sheets, boards and pencils were distributed in the groups. They were asked to make stories by using the hints stated in their activity sheets. They were given 15 minutes to complete the activity of making stories with interesting titles. Some of the titles were- “Sandy chacha ka ek anokha safar”, “Jungli billi”, “Sab ki pyari Bulbuli”, “Tinku ke sapne”, “Anookhe Bandar kaandaaz”, “Sahasi Bulbuli” etc.
The programme ended with the children in great spirits. Photographs of the screening are pasted below.
