Ajoy Kumar Charavarty

Ajoy Kumar Chakravarty
A graduate in Fine Arts from Vishwa Bharati University, Ajay Kumar Chakravorty worked as a visualiser with Godrej and Boyce in Bombay. Cinema became important to him as founder-menber of Anandam Films Society. Later, a 1949 Czecholovakian puppet film triggered his ambition to learn animation film making 1961 saw the first animated puppet film to be made in India "Nanche Munhe Sitare" directed by Chakravarty for which he won the National Award. 1974, his film "Alibaba" agged the same prestigious award. In 1979, Chakravarty's animation film "Cable Length" won a Bronze Antenna at the International Telecommunication Conference Zurich. In 1982, his film "Raju and Tinku" won another National Award. Chakravarty has made around nine animated films based on fairy tales, mythological themes and historical subjects.

Synopsis

Mohan lives with his old aunt ina forest. Impressed by his simplicity and kindness the fairy queen takes him on a visit to fairyland and gives him rich gifts.
