Panaji (PTI): Children's Film Society of India (CFSI) Chairperson
Nafisa Ali on Monday said that she would love to host "The
Golden Elephant" festival in Goa.
"Goa is the right choice, there is a perfect ambience
for any film festival which is facilitated by connectivity
and have enough hotels," Ali said while talking to PTI
during the ongoing International Film Festival of India (IFFI)
in Goa.
Goa is known for appreciating festivity. People here are
guests friendly, she added.
The state which hosts IFFI since 2004 was declared as the
permanent venue by Union Information and Broadcasting Minister
P R Dasmunsi.
"Many foreign delegates would enjoy here in the atmosphere
which is so much foreigner friendly," she said.
The NFDC chairperson also emphasised for broadening the horizon
of children's films. She said that movie like Krissh, Koi
Mil Gaya, Iqbal can also be the part of children's film festivals.
"Children's film is not small kids running around, but
films for family entertainment," Ali said. She rubbished
the wrong notion that children's films means films made of
children. "It is value based entertainment for families.
It can have all `masala' and `tamasha' into it," Ali
explained.
Urging the general audience not to look down with the children's
film, the CFSI chairperson said children's film can have small
budget but big return.
"People like Rakesh Roshan have realised it.. I would
love if they bring their films for the children's film festivals,"
Ali said. |
