Caught in a desert sandstorm, Santa must enlist the aid of camels to deliver toys to the children of the Middle East.

First in a series of 3D animated cartoons, Santa’s Camels is non-religious holiday take on crosscultural cooperation.

STEVE GRAY is an award-winning illustrator and is recognized worldwide for his signature style - a wacky yet sly sense of humour and an uncanny eye for detail. His cartoon characters and designs have been published across the world in numerous print publications as well as in Beta media format for both web and broadcast. His commercial portfolio includes advertising work for Disney, Warner Brothers, American Express, MGM, AT&T, McDonald’s and Coca Cola among others.

Twelve-year old Farouzi, a Dutch-Arabic girl is daydreaming while working at a fishery. She isn’t interested in the boys at the fishery; the only one that really means something to her is her donkey Soufiane, who always follows her. One day a girl comes by the fishery on a scooter. The arrival of this self-willed girl makes Farouzi jump on her donkey.

TIES SCHENK graduated in 2005 from the Dutch Film Academy having directed her dream project Docklands. She than developed a youth series which was broadcast on the national television channel VPRO. Earlier, she has also worked as an art director for several music videos and as an assistant director for the youth series Baasjes. She is currently developing a 9-episode television series.

During a family meal at the Maxim restaurant in Haifa, ten-year old Oran Almog gets injured in an explosion caused by a suicide bomber. He loses his father, his brother, his grandparents, his cousin, and his eyesight. He now faces a new life as he begins to adapt to the sudden and terrible changes in his life. Oran inherited the love for the sea from his grandfather, and he dreams of establishing a sailing centre in his memory, a centre that will allow him to keep developing as a blind mariner. Many difficulties pile up on his way to adulthood, but Oran is not a quitter.

This is the story of a young teenager whose life was diverted from its course, as he tries to find a way to make his dreams come true and live a normal lie. The movie captures Oran's daily life and illustrates the way he deals with the world that surrounds him.

GILAD RESHEF completed his film studies from the Beit Berl Film School and is a cinematographer and director of various short films and documentaries. Some of his notable films include Closed Circle (2000), Driving to Tel Aviv is not Funny (2000), Back Yard (2003) and Release (2005).

To Megan, the world seems to be meaningless. She cannot tell the sky from the ground, the flowers from the leaves, the dull from the lively. She is colour-blind. Until one day, she chances upon a magical pair of glasses, which lets her see more colours than she ever imagined. This is a contemporary fairytale about a colour-blind girl’s struggle to find colours in her life, and when she does get more than she has hoped for, she learns that too much of a good thing is not really good either.

DERRICK LUI graduated with high distinctions in Media Studies from Murdoch University, Australia. He started his career at MTV Asia as a producer. He now works for the Singapore Ministry of Education, producing various corporate videos, dramas and documentaries for educational purposes.

LEE CHEE TIAN is an active freelance theatre practitioner. He is a versatile writer, director and actor in various stage and television productions.

DILWORTH is a New York-based animation director and designer whose work has appeared on HBO, FOX, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, MTV, Canal +, and Arte, as well as the Museum of Modern Art, and the Guggenheim Museum in New York City. He has produced thirteen award-winning independent and sponsored films, which have been screened around the world, including The Dirdy Birdy, The Chicken From Outer Space, and Life in Transition. Dilworth is also the creator of the top-rated Cartoon Network series, Courage, the Cowardly Dog.

This unique animated programme features well-known Gaelic mimic and comedian Norman MacLean as an animated puppet introducing five tall tales from the remote heartlands of tribal India. Not content with merely introducing the cartoons he also plays a number of parts in the stories – these include a raucous jackdaw, an underworld shaman, the humble House-Bonga and even the carnivorous Head-Bonga himself. So which is the tallest story? It is not an easy choice. Each film is made in a different and evocative Tribal Artwork style.

LESLIE MACKENZIE has been working as an animation artist since 1984; in 1988 she founded ‘West Highland Animation’ and has been directing and producing Gaelic animation films since then.

TARA DOUGLAS was born in Almora, India in 1969. In the early 1990s, she studied Animation at Farnham under Roger Noakes. She has produced several short 3D films and has also collaborated as an animator in several other projects.

NITIN DONDE is the Head of Department, Beta Heritage Lab, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He has set up his own animation company called AAVS and has produced many animation shorts.

JIM STIRK was born in 1974 and lives in Edinburgh. He has been working as an animator since the last seven years and has been involved in all the levels of production from concept to post production.

MARTIN SCHMIDT was born in the town of Fritzlar in Germany in 1983. In 2003, he commenced his studies in Visual Communication at the University of Art and Design in Kassel, Germany. His debut animation short Noise (2006) has been shown in film festivals worldwide. In December 2005, he produced the Sucking Loop at a semester workshop focusing on animated loops. Sucking Loop which went on to win the audience award at the Trickreich Exhibition (Caricatura Kassel).

MARIS BRINKMANIS was born in 1975 and is one of the most promising animation filmmakers from Latvia. He has been working as an animator at the film studio “Animacijas Brigade” in Riga since 1997. He was awarded a Special Diploma for his animation short Magician (2001) at the 1st International Festival of Animated Films in Riga, Latvia.

A cicada and an ant live in the same building. Whereas the ant is very careful about preserving water and electricity, the cicada is not bothered about its power consumption. One morning, the cicada is left without water and electricity, but her letterbox is full of invoices!

The filmmakers have faced acute problems of power consumption. With the help of Louise-Marie Colon, they wanted to make an animation short in order to inform people about the little things that can easily reduce our energy bills.

LOUISE-MARIE COLON was born in 1976. She obtained her degree as a primary school teacher in 1997. She has received three nominations at the Animation Cinema Department of the National Superior School La Cambre in Brussels. While working as a primary school teacher, she also worked on animation and created puppets for the movie Barbe bleu by the collective workshop Zorobabel. Since October 2002, she has been working at the ‘Camera Enfants Admis’ animation workshop. Her filmography includes Paullette (2000), Tabernacle (2001), Petit (2002), The Broken Doll (2004) etc.

RUTH WEBER was born in 1976 in Klagenfurt. Having attended the School of Dance and Choreography in Barcelona since 1992, she went on to study at the School of Glassworks, Art and Design in Kramsach during 1996-1998. From 1999 to 2002, she worked as a project manager at New Media Productions in Munich. Since October 2003, she has been pursuing her animation studies at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.

BASTIAN MATTES was born in 1982 in Villingen-Schwenningen and has been studying animation at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg since 2003. Some of his previous works include Boléro (2000), E.L.F. (2001), Sommertag (2003), Teatime (2003) etc.

ALYS HAWKINS was born in the heat wave of 1976 and grew up in Southampton, UK. She pursued her film studies at Northumbria University in Newcastle and completed her MA in Animation from the Royal College of Art, London in 2002. Several of her films have won awards at festivals worldwide. Some of her notable shorts include Bun in the Oven (1999), Hysteria (2001), Crying & Wanking (2002) etc. She is currently working in a railway arch in Southampton, juggling a number of new projects.

Seven year old Veronica regularly goes to school but she is different from her friends. She suffers from the Down’s Syndrome. Ever since she was born, her parents have given her special care and a lot of love. It was maybe in reward for their conscientiousness that they have discovered the girl’s prodigious acting talent. The girl has become the youngest member of a unique drama group – The Theatre from the Passage – comprising of mentally disabled actors. She can make use of her potential and share her incredibly strong theatrical experiences with the people. She can now travel and live in her own world. This documentary is a story of the ordinary joys of this small actress and her family.

KATARÍNA KOCALKOVÁ was born in 1978. In 2004, she studied documentary and feature filmmaking at the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica. In 2005, she represented the Slovak Republic at the Videus workshop in Germany. One of her notable documentary films is My Aunty Timrava, a film about Slovakia’s most famous female author.

Mr Paschulke is disturbed to discover that Fritz’ dog Keks has ruined his freshly painted garage. Now it’s up to Fritz to repaint his neighbour’s property. If only the garage wall could repel the dirt and stay clean, just like the cress leaves that somehow never get dirty. Very clean indeed! A phenomenon of this plant that science has long discovered and applied to wall paint as well. Fritz decides he should get his hands on this type of paint.

GEETA ILANGOVAN is an officer in the Indian Information Service and she is presently working for the Press Information Bureau, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. In 2005, she had won the Sarojini Naidu Award for Best Reporting on Women and Panchayati Raj. She is an active member of a women’s organization called Koodu. Little Space is her debut film.

Nine year old Marta is sent to her beloved grandfather's house in the country. Once she arrives, she finds that this once familiar world has become very different. Marta is soon reacquainted with her eccentric grandfather Janosch, but something is wrong. Although he has always been unconventional, Janosch's behaviour becomes extremely worrying when he begins to forget simple things and when he starts to put his clothes on backwards and inside-out!

CHRISTIAN SCHWOCHOW was born in 1978 in Bergen on the German island Ruegen. After graduation, he worked as an author, announcer and reporter for various broadcasting stations in Berlin. Since 2002, Schwochow has been studying Film Direction at the Film Academy Baden-Wuerttemberg. Marta and her Flying Grandfather is his debut feature film.

JADWIGA KRYSTYNA was born in 1982. She studied animation at the University of Applied Sciences of Central Switzerland during 2003-07. Currently, she is working at Cinemagination on the project Max & Co. by the Guillaume Brothers. The World is Round has already been shown in over twenty five international film festivals and has bagged a couple of awards.

Bonifác experiences a Christmas full of wonderful, funny and enlightening events, after having been visited by a magical angel.

Bonifác and the Miraculous Angel is based on an old Slovak folk-play and attempts to explore the question of whether the magic and meaning of Christmas are hidden. Is it the snow, the frost, the Christmas tree, the nativity scene or the presents that makes the celebration of the birth of the God’s son so special?

IGOR PARGÁC (b. 1970) graduated from Comenius University in Bratislava and teaches religion and ethics at an elementary school in Slovakia. For more than ten years, he has been leading the local Rondo theatre, where he staged the plays Maranatha, The Inspector General, Salome etc. Among his recent accomplishments is the documentary film Skade si chlapce (Where Are You From, Lad?) about the Jewish Holocaust and the camaraderie between Christians and Jews before and during the Second World War.

Poopy, the little puppy explores the world out of curiosity. His explorations teach him new lessons about living beings and the social order around him. He is always doubtful and asks questions on each and everything he feels strange. In fact, his questions lead him to great answers that are scientific truths.

Poopy is a metaphorical representation of a curious child who is always eager to learn about the world around him. Through its unique message the animation video intends to inculcate scientific temper among children. Poopy’s explorations of the world teach that science is everywhere and around you. The programme anchored by an animated doll Twinkle includes seven stories and four songs including a title song, two folk songs and a musical.

MADHU K. S. was born in 1970. He has to his credit numerous animation films including several children’s film series. His previous short films include Forbidden Spring (2002), Princess of Persia (2003) etc. His children’s animation series Twinkle Twinkle (2006) won the Best Children’s Programme award at the Kids’ TV Awards instituted by the National Film Academy, Trivandrum. He is also actively associated in several interactive multimedia projects and is the creative director of the Toonz Animation India website.

A journey with the local school children in an attempt to understand the marine life of the Konkan region. The film attempts to reveal the relationship between the children living on the coast and the sea. Children involved themselves in Olive Ridley turtle conservation. Thrilled upon observing the dolphins and the rich underwater life, they volunteered to launch a Dolphin Club, a first step towards marine conservation.

Besides the rich underwater world of the region, the film captures the scintillating beauty of the dolphins, green turtles, olive ridley turtles, wintering migratory seagulls, sea eagles, swiftlets etc.

ARTI KULKARNI is a wildlife journalist and filmmaker. She has worked with a few social organizations and has also assisted in the editing of the pioneering wildlife publication in Marathi, Shravan. Having worked for the Maharashtra Times and the Marathi news channel TARA, she covered many wildlife conservation issues in Maharashtra. The organization, Shekru, founded by her engages itself with documentation of wildlife in Maharashtra, raising moral and financial support for conservation groups across the state and educating children about environment in a friendly and informal manner.

A story about the friendship between a middle-aged woman who is bereaving her husband and a young beggar boy. The boy does not know what it is like to lose someone so close because he has never had any family ties. Kalyani has never known anyone like Baiju, without a home or a family. Yet in some intangible way, both these individuals are able to relate to each other and reach out in compassion. The boy helps Kalyani overcome her mourning and Kalyani endows Baiju with the trust and affection that he has never experienced before.

ANJALI MENON studied film direction, production and editing at the London International Film School, UK. She also has a Masters degree in Communication Studies from the University of Pune. She has worked on numerous documentary, corporate and television programs. In London, she collaborated with Channel 4’s documentary team covering South Asian cultural issues. Her independent ventures include a documentary made for ‘Friends without Borders’, a world peace organization besides several corporate films, commercials etc.
